The two-day meeting will focus on the fight against Covid-19
The G20 Health Ministers have met in Rome, in a summit which aims to increase the level of cooperation and address common health challenges at the international level.
Italian Minister of Health and chairman of the summit, Roberto Speranza, welcomed his counterparts before the first session of the two-day summit dedicated to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the two days they have decided that the next meetings will focus on prevention and preparedness to better respond to pandemics in the future. Another focus will be identifying the best global strategies to support the development and equitable access to vaccines and therapies.
The G20 is the international forum that brings together the world's leading economies. Its members account for more than 80% of world GDP, 75% of global trade and 60% of the planet's population. The forum meets every year since 1999.
