Among the hospitalized patients in Kosovo, there are also 3 children, one of them intubated, the other 7 months old

In the Pediatric Clinic near the KKUK, due to the infection with the coronavirus, a two-year-old is in a serious health condition and is also intubated, while two others, one 7 months old and the other 7 years old, are in a more stable condition.

This was announced by the acting director of the Pediatric Clinic, Violeta Grajqevci-Uka, who said that these children do not have any other concomitant diseases.

Grajqevci-Uka told KosovaPress that the two-year-old boy, due to his serious condition, was put on a ventilator today and that he has been lying in this clinic for 1 week now. "At the moment, three children are hospitalized in the COVID department at the Pediatric Clinic, two of them are in a stable condition...08'28 The child is currently on a ventilator and until now, two hours ago, he was on CPAP and due to the deterioration, the doctors of the ward have placed him together with an anesthesiologist with a respirator and he is in a rather serious condition. The child's age is two years old, he has been in the Pediatric Clinic for almost 1 week, he is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit due to his serious condition....09'17 These two other children, one is seven months old and the other is 7 years old, the condition theirs is currently stable, while they were admitted last night but are continuing with hospital treatment", she emphasized.

UD of the director of the Pediatric Clinic says during this week there is a slight decrease in cases of COVID requiring hospitalization, but that only during the month of August up to 50 children have sought treatment as a result of the infection.

"Ambulatory treatment during the last 24 hours at the Pediatric Clinic this week has been somewhat calmer, at most we have had anywhere up to 12 cases during the 24 hours of treatment and who are diagnosed with COVID but who have not sought hospital treatment but outpatient treatment only. Last week we had more for the reason that perhaps the wave was the most frequent of the cases that were reported at the Pediatric Clinic with positive COVID, we had up to 22 children with COVID who were declared in the admission ambulance....Sometime up to During August, 50 children were hospitalized with COVID-19, taking into account that since January until now there are more than 110 children hospitalized in the Pediatric Clinic who have been diagnosed with COVID-19", said Grajqevci-Uka.

Grajqevci-Uka advises that the allowed ages of children be vaccinated, especially now when the school year will start.

"Vaccination protects a lot, especially children, we already have a larger number of children who have been affected by the new variant of SARS-COV2, I advise parents to vaccinate as many children as possible because it protects them more than it protects adults family members but also themselves because now the school year also begins and infections, the spread of this virus may be even more frequent among people who are not vaccinated in order to prevent this infection, vaccination should have been the most appropriate way, especially for cases of compromised immunity, then they must be vaccinated", she said.

In just the last 24 hours, the IKSHP report has announced that 19 children from 0-9 years old have tested positive for COVID-12, while 10 children from 19-38 years have tested positive. Meanwhile, in all of Kosovo, there are 19 positive people with COVID-920, while 28 citizens of Kosovo have lost the battle with coronavirus.
