A passenger's cell phone on an Alaska Airlines jet caught fire as the plane landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, forcing the crew to evacuate all passengers.

An airline spokesman said the passenger's phone overheated and started beeping after the flight from New Orleans landed at the airport around 20:30 p.m. Monday and was waiting to disembark.

Staff used fire extinguishers and a battery insulation bag to stop the smoke from the phone. However, they were forced to evacuate the passengers using the emergency exits due to the situation inside the cabin.

The passengers were transported to the terminal by bus and two of them did not feel well and were sent for medical assistance to the hospital.

According to what he writes AP, there were 129 passengers and 6 crew members on the plane./tvklan.al
