The first 100 Afghans have arrived in Kosovo. The media in Kosovo write that the refugees have landed at the International Airport of Pristina, from where they are expected to be accommodated in the "Bondsteel" military base in Ferizaj.
To welcome the Afghans, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the US Ambassador to Pristina, Philip Kosnett, were present at the Airport. We remind you that the USA is continuing the evacuations from the Kabul airport and has said that the evacuations will take place until August 31, when it is also the deadline for foreign troops to leave Afghanistan.
Earlier, the Taliban had called on Afghan nationals who have worked with foreign troops not to leave, guaranteeing their safety. However, the citizens did not believe these words and decided to leave the country, so as not to put their lives in danger.
