
The hottest place on the planet is not Death Valley, but the Dasht-e Lut desert in Iran, followed by the Sonoran desert in Mexico.
"According to satellite data collected in recent years, where Earth temperatures in both countries can exceed 80 degrees Celsius", according to the study conducted by the University of California based on satellite data from the last 18 years.
It is often said that the hottest place on the planet, with an air temperature several times above 55 degrees Celsius, is the famous Death Valley which is located in California, but the newly published research wanted to revise the ranking of the most extreme places on the planet based on Earth's temperatures.
The new analysis also confirmed that the coldest place is in Antarctica with a record of minus 110,9 degrees Celsius.
