The Serbian List has not been certified by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) for the December 28 snap parliamentary elections in Kosovo, but this party, which enjoys the support of Serbia, has filed a complaint with the ECAP today and expects to be part of the electoral race.
This has caused dissatisfaction within the ranks of the party, which enjoys the full support of official Belgrade and its leader Aleksandar Vučić.
In a press conference, the leader of the Serbian List, Zlatan Elek, mentioned Kosovo by the name of the former regime and not the constitutional one.
"For the third time, elections are being held in the area of Kosovo and M… this year. Unfortunately, for the third time we have a situation where the CEC in Pristina violates the rights of the Serbian people and does not certify the Serbian List, it simply eliminates the Serbian List and does not allow our political entity to participate in these elections. Why do we say this? The Serbian List is convincingly the strongest Serbian party in the areas of Kosovo and M…”, said Elek.
He said that this party has ten mayors in municipalities with a Serb majority and that it has the right to participate in the elections.
"Unfortunately, Albin Kurti's regime in Pristina wants to prevent the participation of the Serbian List and at the same time deny the right of the Serbian people to elect legitimate representatives from among the Serbian people," he said.
He said that they have filed a complaint with the ECAP today against the CEC's decision not to certify the Serbian List and expects it to be canceled, adding that this party will win all ten seats in the December elections.
