The Ministry of Health announces that 556 doses of the Pfizer vaccine were delivered to the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo today.
Of this contingent, 503 doses are part of the US donation to Kosovo, which reached Kosovo through the COVAX mechanism, while another 100 doses are from the bilateral agreement for vaccines against COVID-53 between the Ministry of Health and the Pfizer company.
"With the arrival of these vaccines and those that the Ministry of Health has in stock, the process of mass vaccination against COVID-19 will be strengthened even further, with the aim of achieving the objective of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to vaccinate 60% of the population according to the State Vaccination Plan", the announcement of the Ministry of Health states.
The Ministry of Health calls on all citizens of the age group above 16 years, as well as the category of children aged 12-15 years with medical indications, to be vaccinated, as the most adequate way to protect and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Specifically, the Ministry of Health urges pregnant women to be vaccinated as well as nursing mothers, as there is no scientific evidence that vaccination against COVID-19 causes pregnancy or fertility-related problems.
