The decision to suspend unvaccinated doctors in Greece comes into force
The digital certificate, now mandatory in Italy, has made all citizens show their documents when they use long-distance public transport such as buses, trains, ferries and planes.
The so-called Green Pass is a digital certificate or document that shows if someone has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, tested negative, or recently recovered from the virus.
Mario Draghi's government approved the health passport in an attempt to speed up the vaccination campaign against the Delta variant, but it has angered some citizens who say it violates human rights. They believe this is an indirect way of making vaccines mandatory.
The Italian Interior Ministry declared that there will be zero tolerance against illegality. The blue uniforms have increased their presence in several major cities. After the tickets and certificates on board are checked, in case of false declaration of the digital certificate, the passenger is forced to disembark and will pay a fine ranging from 400 to 1000 euros.
Meanwhile, Greece has also started implementing the law for the dismissal of all doctors and other members of the public medical staff who are unvaccinated.
Starting this Wednesday, this decision will come into force, which is expected to cause chaos, since the Greek media estimate about 10 thousand health workers who have not been immunized against Covid-19. The government of Mitsotakis seems determined to implement this decision. Although the unions of doctors and health workers have warned of a new wave of protests against this decision.
Therefore, doctors in other European countries such as Italy and France are expected to face the same restrictive measures around the middle of this month.
