In a statement published on Facebook, Thaçi stated that illegal landfills are the result of years of neglect and pose a serious risk to citizens and the environment.
"As a municipality, we have started the destruction of illegal landfills because law and order are not optional. These landfills directly harm the health of our citizens and the public environment is not a place for waste, but for dignified living," Thaçi emphasized.
He added that this action is an institutional obligation and direct responsibility towards the citizens of Obiliq, warning that the municipality will continue with concrete actions on the ground.
"The municipality is acting and will not stop," concluded the mayor of Obiliq.
