Criminal charges filed against the former director and several employees of the Center for Social Work in Tetovo, suspected of abuse of official duty

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has filed criminal charges against the former director and several employees of the Center for Social Work in Tetovo, as well as against three people from Bogovina.

According to the Ministry of Interior, they are suspected of abuse in exercising the right to compensation due to disability.


“SPB-Tetovo has filed criminal charges against HA (46) from Tetovo, employed as a sector manager at the Public Institution “Center for Social Work” – Tetovo, and VA (49) from Tetovo, director of the institution, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of “abuse of official duty and authorization”. Against QBD (34) from Tetovo, professional associate, and A.Ļ. (40) from Tetovo, social worker at the institution, for “irresponsible work in the service” and against MN (57), Sh.S. (52) and AF (54), all from the village of Bogovinë, there are grounds for suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “falsification of official documents” and “making false statements”.

"During 2024, the first reported person prepared and approved positive decisions for the realization of the right to compensation due to disability for a person with severe physical disability, on behalf of the fifth and sixth persons, without first conducting the necessary verification, while the second reported person, as director, signed and approved a positive decision on the same basis, on behalf of the seventh reported person."

"The third and fourth reported persons, who led the procedures for these persons, did not conduct a direct check on the beneficiary's family, while the fifth, sixth and seventh reported persons submitted requests to the competent body, the Inter-municipal Center for Social Affairs in Tetovo, making false statements that they meet the conditions for the right to disability compensation for a person with severe physical disability, and also attached forged official documents - consular opinions, for which, after verification, it was found that these persons had not set an appointment at all," the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.
