Tensions between Israel and Palestine have risen again. Israel has carried out airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in response to Palestinian rockets fired into its territory.
Relations between the two countries have worsened after last week's events. Six Palestinian militants escaped from a high-security Israeli prison. Israeli forces have managed to capture only 4 of them.
As the fugitives have appeared in court Israeli officials have promised a full investigation into the apparent security lapses that allowed their escape. They got out through a hole in the floor of their prison cell. All six are suspected of planning or carrying out deadly attacks against Israelis.
Gaza militants fired a rocket into Israel on Friday when two of the prisoners were arrested. A fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas ended 11 days of fierce fighting in May. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the most protracted and controversial conflicts in the world related to the same territory.
