4 victims. The hurricane is advancing, but losing power

These are the devastating consequences that Hurricane Ida has left behind in Louisiana. Thousands of people have remained in the open sky and are sheltering in evacuation centers, after the powerful winds have destroyed their houses, property and everything they had.

More than 1 million inhabitants, a quarter of the population of the entire federal state, continue to be without electricity due to severe damage to transmission lines. Economic damage is estimated in billions of dollars.

Local residents say that Ida made Katrina of 2005 seem like a summer breeze in terms of destruction, although in terms of the number of victims it does not compare at all.

The hurricane's strength has dropped to about 110 kilometers per hour from about double what it was when it hit the Louisiana coast. The tornado is currently crossing the territory of Tennessee. The balance of victims has deepened to at least 4, while the injured are counted by dozens.
