A lottery player attributed his luck to a chance meeting with his grandmother at a store to winning a $1 million prize.
The player, who nicknamed himself "Grandma is my lucky charm," told Illinois Lottery officials that his luck began with a stop at the Road Ranger.
"The jackpot draw took place that night, but I work late, so I took a quick lunch break to grab a ticket and try my luck," the player recalled.
"When I got to the store, I saw a car that looked exactly like my grandmother's. And you know what? It was her car," he added.
The player said that meeting his grandmother was the first stroke of luck of the day – but not the last.
"She ran towards me and hugged me," he said.
Then the man bought a Powerball ticket. He matched all five numbers, 13-16-18-20-27, winning a $1 million prize.
"I immediately called my grandmother and her first response was, 'Are you sure you won?'" the winner recalled. /Telegraph/
