Exhibited in Hong-Kong, estimated up to 150 thousand pounds

Hats in different shapes of Napoleon Bonaparte. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his death, the DNA of the emperor has been found in one of the hats in circulation attributed to him.

According to reports from several international media outlets, the object accidentally landed at Bonhams auction house, which put it on display at its Hong Kong headquarters, before moving to Paris and then London, where it will be auctioned on October 27.

The current owner found it at a small German auction house, not knowing at first that it might belong to Napoleon. Then some details intrigued him and he began to investigate, until the object was subjected to the most specific and accurate tests available.

The uniqueness of the path that this object has traversed is different from the origin of other Napoleon hats in circulation, donated by noble families connected to the emperor, or by soldiers who had collected them on the battlefield. It is currently estimated to be worth between £100 and £150. Other hats have sold for £1m.
