Six pregnant women are infected with Covid-19 and end up in Kosovo hospitals with oxygen therapy, one in serious condition

In the COVID department of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic near the KKUK, 16 pregnant women are admitted, 6 of them are on oxygen therapy, while one pregnant woman is in serious condition. And in this latest wave, 87 pregnant women have sought hospital treatment in the Gynecology department, and none of them have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

This is what the director of the Gynecological and Obstetrical Clinic, Jakup Ismajli, told KosovaPress, who explained that COVID-19 is attacking the entire system, including the respiratory system, the heart, and the kidneys.

"In the Gynecology ward in the dedicated COVID ward, 16 patients are currently hospitalized... their condition is stable except for one who is in a slightly more serious state of health... but six patients out of this number of 16 are with oxygen therapy... They need permanent oxygen, but with a quantity and dose of oxygen, the saturation is kept above 90.... This disease attacks all systems, but the main problems are respiratory, but they also have cardiac, kidney and coagulation problems", he emphasized he.

Doctor Ismajli says that none of the patients admitted to the COVID ward at the Gynecology Clinic are vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The director of the Gynecology Clinic at KKUK says that in this latest wave, 19 pregnant women have sought hospital treatment as a result of infection with COVID-87.

"With the very fact that they are hospitalized, they also have health problems and are pregnant, a large number of them have also completed the birth process, but they need multidisciplinary treatment and to stay in the COVID department at the Gynecology Clinic.... In this In the last wave of the "Delta" variant, we had 87 hospitalized patients, of which there were 28 deliveries, even today one delivery was completed, 7 of them were transferred to the Central Intensive Care Unit, the others were released to go home... From all of these who have been hospitalized in this wave, none are vaccinated", said Ismajli.

The Director of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Jakup Ismajli for KosovaPress, has also given details about the 26-year-old woman who died yesterday as a result of infection with COVID-19.

He says that this patient came in a serious condition from the General Hospital of Gjilan, completed the birth process and was then transferred to the Central Intensive Care Unit.

"She came from Gjilan, she came to us straight from the reception office, she was sent to the delivery room, the birth was completed by caesarean section and she was immediately transferred to the Central Intensive Care Unit, which means that she came in a serious condition , she needed treatment in the Central Intensive Care Medicine....Even her baby was born in a serious condition, knowing that she came from Gjilan", he said.
