More details come to light about the previously unheard of incident where a young man swallowed his mobile phone, requiring surgery to remove it.
The event in question happened in Kosovo. It is learned that the young man, 33 years old with the initials AA, was a prisoner. It is thought that in order to hide the Nokia mobile phone he had in his cell, he swallowed it, but then felt bad and sought medical help.
"Prisoner, A. A, sentenced to 4 years for the criminal offense of aggravated theft. On 30.08.2021, he announced that he had swallowed his mobile phone and sought medical help. After being visited by the center's doctors, he was immediately sent to the Regional Hospital of Mitrovica, where X-rays were taken. In the photo, it is proven that the same person swallowed the mobile phone, he immediately left for SHSKUK, where he intervened. After the intervention, the prisoner in question has returned to the Mitrovica Prison, his health condition is stable and he is being visited by the center's doctors", the police announcement states.
The operation was performed on August 30, while the 33-year-old had swallowed his phone four days before.
