Beginning of the lifting of EU measures against Kosovo, Hamza: Good news, right decision

The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, has said that the beginning of the lifting of EU measures against Kosovo is good news and a fair decision.

Hamza, in a Facebook post, writes that our citizens should not be punished for the mistakes of this government.

"I thank the European partners for keeping their promise. Now a new chapter must be opened with the EU, based on reforms, European integration and economic development. Together with allies, Kosovo will move forward!", writes Hamza.

Otherwise, last night the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, announced from Brussels that at the end of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, a decision was made to lift all measures imposed on Kosovo.

She announced that some of the measures will be lifted immediately, while the rest will be lifted at the end of January.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has also written about this.

She said that the European Union has begun the process of lifting punitive measures against Kosovo, while 205 million euros in financial assistance is expected to be released early next year.

"I am happy to announce that we are moving forward with lifting the measures against Kosovo. We are programming 216 million euros in financial assistance and intend to release 205 million euros early next year," Von der Leyen wrote on the X platform. /Telegraph/
