Fetai at COSP11 in Doha: Anti-corruption strategies require effective institutional leadership and coordination

The Deputy President of the Republic of North Macedonia, responsible for Good Governance, Arben Fetai, participated in the 11th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP11), which is being held in Doha.

Fetai spoke at the panel dedicated to comprehensive anti-corruption strategies in Southeast Europe, where he emphasized that anti-corruption policies and strategies yield sustainable results only when supported by strong government leadership, effective institutional coordination, and active involvement of civil society.

In his speech, he stated that strategic documents have real value only when they are translated into concrete implementation, monitoring and accountability mechanisms, shifting the focus from formal declarations towards measurable results.

"Referring to the experience of the Republic of North Macedonia, he emphasized the importance of data-driven approaches, digitalization of processes and institutional transparency as key tools for reducing the scope for corruption and restoring public trust in institutions. Deputy Prime Minister Fetai's participation in COSP11 is part of the ongoing international commitments of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia to strengthen good governance, institutional integrity and regional and international cooperation in the fight against corruption," Feta's office informed.
