"It is likely that the use of health care services for influenza will increase significantly in the next two weeks," the two organizations warn, speaking of "a strong impact on hospitals during the holiday season."
According to the weekly bulletin of the French Public Health Service published on Tuesday, for the week of December 8-14, flu-related indicators continued to increase for all age groups.
The service predicts an increase in emergency room visits for flu-like symptoms in the next two weeks, followed by a decline in the first two weeks of 2026, largely due to the delayed effect of reduced transmission associated with school closures.
