A 51-year-old man who stuck a syringe filled with his own sperm into a man has been jailed for 10 years.
Thomas Byron Stemen, 51, pleaded guilty to assaulting Katie Peters at Christopher's Fine Foods in Maryland, US.
Peters was walking the shopping cart when he was hit in the buttocks on February 18 last year. Footage captured by security cameras shows the woman holding the cart as Stemen sticks the syringe into her from behind.
Stemen, dressed in a pair of jeans and a blue sweater, tells the woman: I know it feels like bee stings, right?
After the attack Ms Peters got into her car to go home but called her son when she started to feel a burn and found a wound on herself.
She said: I started driving home and started feeling a lot of pain. I called my son and told him that something is wrong and I hope nothing happens. I said I hope I get home, I love you. I had no idea what was in that needle. It could have been rat poison, HIV, I don't know.
Police say they found a large syringe filled with liquid in Stemen's car during a search, as well as more syringes at his home, reports local news station WJLA.
Stemen pleaded guilty to last year's supermarket attack and will serve 10 years in prison. /tvklan.al
