Kosovo-Serbia dialogue/ Kurti cut: There can be no comprehensive agreement when the families of the dead do not know where the remains of their loved ones are

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, during his visit to IKSHPK today, also spoke to the media about the meeting that his deputy Besnik Bislimi had with the Serbian delegation in Brussels led by Petar Petkovic and mediated by Miroslav Lajçak.

Kurti said that in the dialogue with Serbia, the issue of missing persons is a topic that cannot wait.

Kurti further said that he was informed by his deputy Besnik Bislimi about what he called preparatory meetings for a dialogue that will have a new chapter.

"I was informed by Professor Bislimi about the preparatory meetings of a dialogue that will have a new chapter, except that there is an issue that cannot be resolved and this is the issue of the missing. Andin Hoti, the head of the delegation and commission for the missing, traveled together with Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi. We cannot expect a comprehensive agreement with mutual recognition with Serbia when the families of 1630 citizens of Kosovo are in question who are saddened that they no longer have their loved ones even 22 years later, and the worst part is that they do not know where they are and even if they know they are dead, they don't have their bones", said Kurti.

Kurti said that for other issues they gave proposals which were not accepted.

"Other topics can be opened between Kosovo and Brussels, but not between Kosovo and Serbia", said Kurti.
