The former Minister of Education in Albania, Besa Shahini, reacted after the violence and arrest of her husband, Dardan Molliqaj, during a protest today.
Through a status on social networks, Shahini emphasizes that Prime Minister Albin Kurti will extinguish any opposition voice, even to the activists who condemned the special court, which according to Shahini is against the KLA.
She says, among other things, that democracy in Kosovo is at its most fragile point since the post-war, and the need for opposition and vocal spaces, according to her, is growing.

Albini's need to extinguish every opposition voice in Kosovo has become absurd. The five activists in the symbolic action against the unjust special court – now transformed into a court against the KLA – were violently beaten and arrested. The same thing happened in July, when Albini brought out the police to defend an absurd additional car registration tax, which he later withdrew.
Before that, a small protest was organized against the hypocrisy of the VV which openly campaigned, dangerous to health in the middle of the pandemic and immediately after winning the election imposed strict measures invoking the pandemic, which resulted in the closure of businesses and staggering fines of citizens.
The protest ended with police violence, so inconsistent with the action of the protesters, that it had not been seen since the time of UNMIK.
If they are not extinguished by force, Albini brings out his ministers in protest, to appropriate the cause, as happened with the shameful exit of the minister of justice and the minister of the interior in the protests against the brutal murder of a young woman by her partner.
The health of democracy in Kosovo is at its most fragile point since the post-war. The only thread of hope is the fact that under violent powers, the opposition inevitably grows and strengthens. So, paradoxically, the need and space for new and vocal opposition is growing.
