AUVA strengthens food control at the border and appreciates the contribution of the integrated group leader

The next meeting of the Integrated Border Management Group was held at the Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA), where the activities to date, as well as the priorities for the coming period, were discussed.

The Executive Director of the FVA, Bekim Hoxha, praised the work of the group, emphasizing that its commitment has brought concrete results in the field.


He underlined the importance of strengthening border controls, especially for food products entering Kosovo through border crossings, as a way to increase food safety and protect the health of citizens.

During the meeting, Hoxha also thanked Lieutenant Colonel Fazli Rugova for his contribution as leader of the Group, wishing him a happy retirement and appreciating his dedication and professionalism over the years.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Blerim Gashani, the EULEX representative, Alan Wilson, as well as representatives of member institutions of the Integrated Border Management Group.

This meeting reaffirmed the importance of inter-institutional cooperation for the provision of controlled foods and effective border management in Kosovo.
