Euronews Albania, through journalist Alice Taylor, asked the European Commission about the raids and the investigation involving Federica Mogherini, the College of Europe and the EU External Action Service (EEAS), following Belgian media reports that Mogherini has been detained in Brussels as part of this fraud investigation.
A Commission spokesperson declined to give a direct answer, directing the journalist to comments made at the midday press conference.
“The police were there as part of an ongoing investigation into activities that took place during the previous term. We have nothing more to give you, as an ongoing investigation is now underway. We will not be able to add anything else at this stage.”
All other questions from journalists also went unanswered.
This reaction comes in the context of ongoing investigations into the EU institution's previous activities, which have attracted the attention of international media. /Telegraph/
