The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has called on citizens to get vaccinated as the numbers have exceeded 2 thousand infected per day.
Kurti writes that to date there have been no victims of COVID-19 among those who have received the vaccine.
As for the new measures, Kurti says that the government was forced to approve them to slow down the spread of COVID-19.

Physical distance, masks and personal hygiene are necessary, but a duty above all duties for all of us as responsible citizens of the Republic of Kosovo is vaccination.
The Delta variant of the Corona virus is now the dominant variant in Kosovo. As has been seen in the world, this wave is more dramatic than any other wave, due to the very rapid spread of the virus.
Vaccination is the only way to prevent. According to the reports we have, we do not have any deaths among those who have been vaccinated. We have very few hospitalized from those who have been vaccinated and the vaccinated hospitalized are coping much easier.
Despite the fact that we have started the vaccination process later due to the shortages we have found, with the pace and dynamics of the last few days, we have managed to vaccinate a significant number of our citizens. Over 635 vaccines were administered, while over 220 citizens were vaccinated with both doses.
For the management of the pandemic and in support of the vaccination process against COVID-19, at today's meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, we made a decision to engage 1.116 health professionals and support staff for three months, with the possibility of extension for three additional months. , in the total amount of 3.192.854 euros.
On the other hand, despite the fact that vaccination is going well, we have to undertake new measures that will slow down the rate of infections and thus preserve public health. Therefore, referring to the current data on the epidemiological situation, we decided on new measures to control, prevent and fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the face of the explosive spread of the Delta variant of the virus, in addition to respecting the measures, for each of us the shield is the vaccine, and for all together mass vaccination.
