A tragic accident happened late last night in the village of Piranë in Kosovo, on the Prizren-Gjakovë highway.
The Kosovo Police announces that two young men aged 23 and 22 have tragically lost their lives in the accident.
"In the village of Piranë, on the Prizren-Gjakovë highway on August 19, 2021, at around 23:40 p.m., a fatal traffic accident occurred between two local cars, where as a result, in addition to material damage, five people suffered bodily injuries. Two persons from the injured born in 1998 and 1999 have died as a result of serious injuries from the accident. In this accident, a passenger also suffered serious and life-threatening injuries and was sent to the KKUK in Pristina, while two other people suffered minor injuries," the Police announcement states.
It is suspected that the accident occurred due to carelessness and not adjusting the speed of the vehicle, losing control of the direction on the road.
In addition to the police, emergency and fire brigade, the state prosecutor also arrived at the scene, who issued a decision that the dead bodies be sent to the IML in Pristina for forensic expertise.
Regional investigations of the road traffic unit in Prizren are being conducted on the case.
