President Lopez Obrador calls on citizens to find shelter
Hurricane Grace, which has hit the Mexican state of Veracruz since Saturday, has so far caused 8 victims and extensive material damage.
Grace was declared a Category 3 hurricane with winds of up to 200 kilometers per hour, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Mexico's President Lopez Obrador confirmed on Twitter that thousands of members of the civil defense forces, the Ministry of Defense and the Navy, as well as the state distribution of electricity, are engaged.
Earlier this week, Hurricane Grace made landfall on Mexico's Caribbean coast, uprooting trees and causing power outages for nearly 700,000 people, but there were no casualties.
Hurricane Grace also hit Jamaica and Haiti, which also experienced a 7.2 magnitude earthquake with heavy rain.
