America remembers the event that took the lives of 3 thousand people

It was September 11, 2001 when the whole world was shocked by the impact of the Twin Towers in the heart of New York.

20 years later, America stops in time to remember the tragedy that took the lives of nearly 3,000 people after some terrorists took four planes hostage and flew, hitting several important points of the United States, but also of the entire globe.

Two planes crashed into the two towers of the World Trade Center, one crashed into the walls of the Pentagon while a fourth crashed into the ground, after the passengers' heroic struggle with the terrorists.

Images of planes crashing into the Twin Towers, the desperation of people trapped in the building rang alarm bells around the world.

Although two decades have passed, the consequences of the attacks are visible everywhere, from the increased security at airports to the war against terrorism that the United States of America and its allies have undertaken in many Muslim-majority countries.

These deadly attacks by al-Qaeda jihadists constitute the deadliest attacks on American soil. The US then invaded first Afghanistan and later Iraq, killed Osama Bin Laden while Saddam Hussein and his dictatorial regime are now history.

September 11, 20 years ago, was an attack on the symbols of America's financial and military power, a blow to American democracy and that of all Western countries, which reverberates to this day, with the Afghan crisis.
