Difficult to achieve the goal of withdrawing 80 thousand people from Afghanistan

Despite flights from the United States and partner countries that took more than 30,000 people from Kabul airport, as of August 14 the airport is overcrowded. About 20 people are believed to have died in gunfire around Kabul airport.

Military sources say that 33 US military transport planes will occupy the skies above Hamid Karzai International Airport in the next 24 hours. Each of these large four-engine planes can carry around 400 passengers. Washington is changing the rules on who will be admitted to Kabul airport this week and next.

Only US citizens and green card holders as well as citizens of NATO countries will be allowed through the gates of Kabul airport. The Taliban are now helping filter travelers seeking to enter the airport by checking their documentation. Only immediate family members, such as spouses and children, can be brought here by US or NATO citizens.

Even with these new restrictions, thousands of Afghans, mostly men young enough to do military service and without any documents, are found in the territory inside the airport. One reason for the chaos at this airport is the decision to issue electronic visas, without names or numbers on the documents.
