Microsoft will give its non-executive staff a bonus of $1,500 (£1,080) for their work during the pandemic. The company told the BBC it was a token of appreciation during a challenging year.
"We are proud to give our employees a monetary gift", the company said.
In the first quarter of 2021, Microsoft's profits increased by 38%. According to The Verge, employees who joined no later than March 31, 2021 would receive the payment, including part-time workers.
Big tech firms have been thinking a lot about employees during the pandemic, and Microsoft isn't the only firm that has made bonus payments to staff.
In March 2020, Facebook gave employees a $1,000 (£720) bonus to help them with expenses during the pandemic.
Google made a similar $1,000 payment in May 2020. /tvklan.al
